ChitoGauze XR Pro is a flexible haemostatic gauze designed to control life-threatening bleeding and pack deep wounds. The gauze consists of a polyester and viscose fabric coated with chitosan acetate. Upon contact with blood, chitosan binds to blood cells and damaged tissue, forming a strong physical barrier at the wound site that helps control bleeding.
This mechanism of action does not depend on the body\u2019s normal coagulation cascade, allowing the device to remain effective even when normal blood clotting is impaired, for example due to significant blood loss or hypothermia.
ChitoGauze XR Pro is particularly suitable for deep and difficult-to-access wounds where bleeding cannot be effectively controlled with an extremity tourniquet. The Z-folded gauze can be deployed gradually and in a controlled manner from the package, allowing it to be systematically packed into the wound cavity.
An integrated radiopaque thread is visible on X-rays, enabling healthcare professionals to check whether any gauze remains in the wound.
These features make ChitoGauze XR Pro suitable for professional bleeding control in emergency, tactical and military medicine, as well as rescue situations where rapid and effective control of life-threatening bleeding is essential. <\/p>\n
