Description

The 15 mm SAM IO needle is designed for situations where the distance from the skin surface to the bone marrow cavity is minimal. It is used with the SAM IO manual intraosseous access driver to establish rapid and reliable intraosseous access in critical situations.

Selecting the appropriate needle length is one of the key factors in successfully establishing intraosseous access. Based on the patient’s anatomy and soft tissue thickness, the 15 mm needle is selected when the shorter distance to the bone allows safe access to the bone marrow cavity.

The needle is designed for use with the SAM IO manual driver. Following successful insertion, removal of the stylet exposes a standard Luer-Lock connection, allowing a syringe, infusion set, or other compatible medical device to be connected.

All components of the SAM IO system are designed to support rapid and reliable operation in situations where intravenous access is difficult or cannot be established.
