The dressing hydrogel consists of an aqueous composition of natural and synthetic polymers, with its structure formed using electron beam technology. The medical-grade non-woven backing helps retain the hydrogel within the dressing and prevents it from running off the affected area, allowing the dressing to remain securely in place and ensuring even contact between the gel and the burn.
The hydrogel helps cool damaged tissue, maintains a moist wound environment, and provides a soothing effect. According to the manufacturer, the cooling and soothing effect may last for up to 24 hours.
