ChitoGauze XR Pro is a flexible haemostatic gauze designed to control severe and life-threatening bleeding. The gauze is coated with chitosan acetate, a haemostatic agent that acts independently of the body’s normal coagulation cascade. Due to this mechanism, ChitoGauze XR Pro can also be used in situations where the natural blood clotting process is impaired.
The gauze structure is designed for packing deep wounds. The Z-fold configuration allows the gauze to be deployed gradually and in a controlled manner, making it convenient for systematically filling the wound cavity and applying direct pressure to the bleeding site. The flexible gauze conforms to the shape of the wound and enables effective packing of difficult-to-reach bleeding areas.
An X-ray detectable thread is woven into the ChitoGauze XR Pro fabric, making it visible during X-ray examination. This feature allows healthcare professionals to check whether any gauze remains in the wound when the patient receives further treatment in a healthcare facility.
ChitoGauze XR Pro is designed for situations where bleeding must be controlled quickly and reliably, particularly when direct pressure alone is insufficient or when the location of the wound prevents the use of an extremity tourniquet.
