The simulated wound is designed for realistic first aid, tactical medicine, and trauma management training where accurate replication of a real injury is important. It simulates a medium-sized exit gunshot wound measuring approximately 6.4 × 6.4 cm.
The simulation is ready to use immediately and requires no additional adhesive, special effects make-up, or other accessories. Its self-adhesive backing allows the wound to be applied directly to a casualty actor’s skin, enabling rapid preparation of training scenarios without additional setup.
According to the manufacturer, the simulation can be removed and transferred from one casualty actor to another without applying additional adhesive or otherwise treating the backing. With proper care, the wound simulation can be reused.
If the self-adhesive surface becomes contaminated and begins to lose adhesion, the simulation can be washed with warm soapy water. After cleaning and allowing it to dry, the adhesive properties of the backing are restored.
This makes it particularly suitable for training centres, instructors, and organisations conducting practical first aid, emergency medicine, or tactical medicine training where the same simulation may be used across different scenarios and with multiple casualty actors.
