Intraosseous access is a critical procedure used when rapid intravenous access cannot be established in a critically ill or injured patient. Because this procedure is performed relatively infrequently in clinical practice, previously acquired practical skills may decline over time.
In critical situations where medications or fluids must be administered without delay, correct procedural sequence, accuracy, and the ability to use the selected device confidently become particularly important.
The NIO Training Kit is designed to develop practical intraosseous access skills and enable regular refresher training in a safe learning environment. Using the kit, trainees can repeatedly practise the sequence of device preparation and application, develop proper technique, and become better prepared for situations in which decisions must be made quickly and accurately.
Regular hands-on training helps maintain procedural skills and reduces the likelihood that, in a real critical situation, a healthcare professional will have to rely solely on theoretical knowledge. The training kit also allows the procedure to be repeated as many times as necessary to achieve specific training objectives without using NIO devices intended for clinical use.
This enables more efficient use of training resources, as devices intended for clinical use are considerably more expensive.
The NIO Training Kit is suitable for the practical training of healthcare professionals, paramedics, emergency medical personnel, tactical medicine personnel, and other professionals who may need to establish intraosseous access. It can be used for individual training, periodic skills refreshers, simulation scenarios, and in training centres.
