ProCric™ Cricothyrotomy Kit is a professional emergency medical device designed to establish surgical access to the airway when airway patency cannot be maintained using conventional non-invasive methods or when such methods are contraindicated. The kit is intended for situations requiring rapid and precise intervention and can be used in pre-hospital emergency medicine, tactical and military medical settings, as well as in challenging field conditions.
The kit is designed so that its individual components function as an integrated system, helping to ensure a controlled procedure and reliable maintenance of airway access during subsequent patient care and transport. One of the key components is the patented Rota-Trach™ tube with a rotational stabilisation flange. This design helps secure the inserted tube and reduce the risk of unintended displacement during patient ventilation or transport.
The kit also includes the Popp Obturator™ obturator, featuring a rounded, flat tip and an integrated syringe holder. These design features are intended to support controlled use of the device when establishing surgical airway access. The kit is further equipped with the instruments required for the procedure, including a 10 ml Luer-Lock syringe, No. 10 safety scalpel, tube-securing neck strap, and a BVM/ventilation system quick-disconnect wedge. Together, these components provide the essential tools required to establish and stabilise surgical airway access in a single kit.
