Manual ventilation using a bag-valve-mask is an important respiratory support skill, but during training it is not always easy to objectively assess whether ventilation is being performed correctly. Excessive or insufficient delivered air volume and an inappropriate ventilation rate may lead to incorrect technique becoming established, particularly when training without precise feedback.
EOlife X is designed to make ventilation training based not only on subjective assessment of performance but also on real-time data. The device measures insufflated volume (Vi), tidal volume (Vt), and ventilation rate, allowing trainees to immediately assess whether they are ventilating at the appropriate volume and rate and to adjust their technique during the training session. This feedback supports the targeted development of manual ventilation skills and enables more objective assessment of practical skill progression.
According to the manufacturer, EOlife X can be used for ventilation training with adult and paediatric manikins from 1 year of age. Data collected during training sessions can be transferred via Bluetooth to the EOlife Connect app, where it can be stored and used to analyse performance and evaluate training results.
By combining practical training with measurable performance data, EOlife X is suitable for first aid and resuscitation training, medical and nursing education programmes, paramedic training, and simulation training centres where consistent and objective assessment of practical competencies is important.
